January to March 2024 New Film Releases

We begin with Q1 2024 (Jan, Feb, and Mar). The first quarter of the year is packed with new stories, adaptations of popular fiction and true stories, prequels, and remakes coming your way. We’ve added more detail as these movies are just around the corner. And don’t stop when you get to April because we continue with a complete list of movies for Q2, Q3, and Q4 of 2024 below.

January 2024 Movie Releases

The first hit of 2024 has already taken movie theatres globally by storm. Its US opening brought in $20 million, and its current momentum is expected to earn $50 million and $105 million in the US alone. It has already collected $5.6 million in overseas markets, and there’s still more to come!

Mean Girls is an adaptation of the Broadway musical version, with Tina Fey writing. Angourie Rice plays the new girl, Cady Heron, and Reneé Rapp plays the top Mean Girl, Regina George.

February 2024 Movie Releases

Argylle – An action comedy from director Matthew Vaughn about a novelist who gets caught up with criminals mirroring her spy book plots. Stars Howard, Rockwell, Cavill.

Madame Web – Sony Spider-verse movie focused on the clairvoyant character, starring Dakota Johnson in the title role alongside Sweeney, Scott, and others.

March 2024 Movie Releases

Dune: Part Two – The sequel to the 2021 sci-fi epic, with director Denis Villeneuve continuing the story from Frank Herbert’s novel and new cast members like Florence Pugh and Christopher Walken.

Imaginary – Original Blumhouse horror film about a woman who finds her stepdaughter has become disturbingly attached to a dangerous stuffed bear.

Kung Fu Panda 4 – The next installment in the animated franchise with Jack Black and the gang facing off against a new villain while seeking a new Dragon Warrior.

Arthur the King – Mark Wahlberg stars based on the true story of a man befriending a stray dog while competing in a grueling 435-mile adventure race.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – Sequel with a returning cast of Coon, Rudd, Grace, etc., and director Gil Kenan taking over, set in New York and the iconic firehouse.

Godzilla vs Kong: The New Empire – The monster Titans return allied against a new threat, with Adam Wingard directing again and new star Dan Stevens joining the returning cast.

April 2024 to December 2024 Movie Releases in Brief

Kids and Adults

If you want to sit down and watch a movie with the kids that will entertain adults, try Despicable Me 4, Deadpool 3, Transformers One, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Plus, a Spiderman spin-off, Kraven the Hunter, is another one to add to the list.

Exciting Movies for Adults

Beetlejuice 2 is a golden oldie coming back to the big screen. It was one of the hits of its time back in 1988. The Joker 2 is the sequel to the trendy 2019 box office hit. Plus, if you are looking for more bloodthirsty action, Gladiator 2 is also on the cards, while the cheeky Beverley Hills Cops character Axel Foley is back. We haven’t seen him since 1994.
